THIS WORKSHOP....

....will discuss the colloquialisms and history behind the current 'internet age' and show practical ways for educators to publish themselves online.  We'll look at using blogs, wikis, websites, and other useful Web 2.0 tools, and show you how to work with your technology department to utilize your own school's website.  Laptops and an internet connection will be helpful, though not required.

THIS WORKSHOP IS FOR.....

.... educators who want to create a presence online for their class, department, or school.  Any school faculty and staff from any subject/department at any level of technology proficiency are welcome.

IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND THIS WORKSHOP, BEFORE YOU COME, I SUGGEST.....

.... that to make the most of your time at the conference, you spend some time thinking about how you want to put yourself online.  Think about what your aims are, and who your target audience is.  We will not spend much time in the workshop actually making websites, wikis, and blogs, but I will be available at other times during the conference to help you if you wish.  Bring any pictures and documents with you that you may want to put online.  It would be helpful for you to resize your pictures before you arrive - see the tutorial to the right if you need help doing this.  Computing facilities will not be provided at the Conrad Hotel during this conference, but I have been told that wireless internet cards will be available for purchase at the front desk.  You will benefit most from this workshop if you bring a laptop and purchase one of these cards.
